Make hay while the Sun shines

There's a saying I use on a regular basis that I’m sure most of you have heard... "You make hay when the sun shines."

I receive emails from Google.  Actually I receive email alerts on certain topics I have saved with Google.  Every time one of my saved topics (aka a Google Alert) surfaces with new information on the Internet I receive a notification email with a link to that topic newly posted, wherever it may be.

One of my Google Alerts phrases I have saved is "sponsorship agreement." Recently I've been receiving these alerts on a daily basis as opposed to receiving them on a weekly basis.

What"s my tip?  What's the point?  Businesses are signing sponsorship agreements NOW.  Why?  I'm not 100% positive but I believe it is because it is the last quarter of the year and companies are locking in their sponsorship dollars for 2008 NOW.  Whether they are fishing companies or not is irrelevant...The sun is shining right now.

"Your 2 CD seminar on how to get sponsored http://www.fishforfree.com/fffcd.html (see special below) was amazing to say the least. So much great information put into perspective for anglers seeking sponsorship. This seminar will provide any angler the tools to make their dreams of sponsorship come true. As a business owner seeking working relationships with other companies in the industry, this seminar saved me tons of trial and error time and made the whole concept of obtaining sponsorship straightforward and easy to understand. Thanks Scott!"

FishForFREE.com Celebrates 4th Anniversary!
Dunedin, FL - FishForFREE.com is proud to announce the celebration of its fourth year in helping anglers learn how to get sponsored for fishing tournaments.

In 2003, author Scott Rauber, after searching for fishing sponsorship information on the Internet, found only limited resources. He decided to put together a manual, based on his previous experiences, and experiment selling it on eBay®. The first copy sold for the listing price of $1.99.

However, the next few listings on eBay didn’t sell. At the same time Rauber was posting on eBay®, he had a “thunderbolt idea from God.” Rauber says, “Out of nowhere this name popped into my head: Fish For Free. My initial thought was……..sounds kind of corny, but it’s ‘catchy’ and certainly easy to remember. I purchased the domain name FishForFree.com on September 4th 2003.”

Early in 2004 sales started to pick up and over 50 copies were mailed, in just one week. As sales progressed so did interest in the www.fishforfree.com fifteen-page manual and Rauber added a spokesman to further promote his product.   In January 2005 he welcomed long-time BASS Elite Bass Pro and 7 time BASS Classic qualifier Randy Howell http://www.RandyHowell.com to the promotional team.

What started out as a trial run has now grown into a product line offering Volume 2 – How To Get Sponsored For Fishing Tournaments ebook and the FishForFREE.com Sponsorship Seminar presented by Kistler Rods in a 2 CD Audio Set, recorded this past February at the 2007 BASS Classic in Birmingham, AL.

Finding a need and filling it is what Scott Rauber has done in also adding Fishing Resume services and personal sponsorship coaching to his repertoire.

With over 1600 copies sold worldwide, the FishForFREE.com how-to sponsorship arena looks forward to continuing to be the leader in helping anglers secure and retain sponsor relationships.

First Example of Sponsorship?

In 1484 Columbus began seeking support for an Atlantic crossing from King John II of Portugal but was denied aid. (Some conspiracy theorists have alleged that Columbus made a secret pact with the monarch, but there is no evidence of this.) By 1486 Columbus was firmly in Spain, asking for patronage from King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. After at least two rejections, he at last obtained royal support in January 1492. This was achieved chiefly through the interventions of the Spanish treasurer, Luis de Santángel, and of the Franciscan friars of La Rábida, near Huelva, with whom Columbus had stayed in the summer of 1491. Juan Pérez of La Rábida had been one of the queen's confessors and perhaps procured him the crucial audience.

Well, well....it's very possible that Christopher Columbus was the first known indivual to seek sponsorship funds wasn't he?

Sponsorship lesson to be learned....Never quit!

Much success in getting sponsored!!

Fishing Sponsorship for the 95%

Fishing Sponsorship for the 95%

How does a guy get sponsors if he doesn’t fish tournaments or have a resume’?
Kinda makes you wanna scratch your head and go Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

Over the past almost 4 years I’ve had the pleasure of knowing that hundreds and hundreds of anglers have benefited from my How To Got Sponsored For Tournaments e-books – 1 & 2 (http://www.FishForFREE.com & http://www.FishForFREE2.com ) and now The Sponsorship Seminar on CD http://www.fishingsponsorship.com/Sponsorship_CD.html

My post today is to provide a little more insight into the products I offer, especially for those who are naysayer’s when it comes to the FishForFREE.com products.  On numerous occasions I’ve read posts on different fishing forums where anglers whom have and haven’t purchased my products provide opinions as to how my information isn’t legitimate, worthwhile, or valuable.  Hey, I’m all for people voicing their opinions.  We live in the LAND OF THE FREE and people have fought for us to be able to have the RIGHT to speak.

If you’ve ever visited any of my sites, or paid attention to professional bass fishing over the past 25 years, you’re aware that I’m not, nor have I ever been a pro angler. Not a big shock I hope.  I did compete in tournaments on a local basis, here where I live for a few years, and was able to land cash-paying sponsors on a regular basis. Pretty much a weekend warrior if you will.  I imagine I’m just like 95% of the anglers who love to compete in tournaments, but aren’t pros, but dream of becoming one some day.

When you become a pro angler, I’m sure you’re well aware that sponsorship pretty much comes your way because you’re in the limelight.  You’re in front of hundreds, more like thousands on a regular basis, so major and minor tackle companies WANT to be on your jersey so the world can see.  If you want that type of sponsorship, there’s no secret – START WINNING and winning regularly.

However, what do you do in the mean time?  What do you do if you can’t whip the competition on a regular basis?  Are you banned from requesting sponsorship?  What do you do for sponsorship if you’ve just started fishing competitively? If you don’t land a tackle company as a sponsor, are you really sponsored?  If you get product donations are you really sponsored?  So many questions.

Pro BASS ELITE angler Randy Howell who endorses all FishForFREE.com products because he believes there is no other information like it available says, “The way I look at it is, it doesn’t matter who is paying your way to fish, as long as it is getting paid. I meet so many good fishermen in their local area that have so much potential, but give up because they have no monetary support.  This information is the answer to that problem.”

Which leads me to this. If I were an angler spending hours seeking sponsorship information, and happened to find a source where proven techniques on how to land cash-paying (not products donations) sponsors was available I’d certainly investigate, even if it is from a guy who no longer fishes competitively and still is able to land a major tackle company sponsor.

The FishForFREE.com, FishForFREE2.com and Sponsorship Seminar on CD were created to help assist the 95% of anglers, who aren’t pros yet, obtain necessary sponsorship funds.

The Aprentice & Sponsorship?
For the past couple years I've tuned in to see a handful of Donald Trump's The Aprentice television show.

You should tune in, especially if you want to learn a few things about marketing, which you could in turn use to help land new sponsors.

What impresses me the most about this show is how the contestants come together and put all of their energies into creating a marketing program that produces.  And it must produce or they sleep in tents.

All energy FOCUSED on successfully bring new awareness, attention, interest, etc to the copmany they are marketing.

Brilliant.

Use these steps when preparing to obtain sponsrs.

Or you could just put a sticker on your truck.

Watch The Aprentice.
